When I wrote it about it then, the plan was to gradually move into the commercial spaces with new businesses. It was just a matter of the length of the leases. There are tons of other businesses in the same situation all over the nabe...they'll be gone as soon as their lease is up as landlords realize they can find tenants willing to pay more. Actually, most of them already realize this. Where residents have rental protections (often) commercial tenants have only leases, and even those are often cancelled or bought out due to various circumstances. They will get rid of one of the things that makes the spot memorable to some and just become another bar with overpriced drinks.<br /><br />That laundry mat has lower prices and actual hot water. The one around the corner will be able to absorb the business but many folks will be upset with losing this laundry spot. It was a bar and laundry mat. It was awesome for travelling musicians. Biggest problem?
