The Q at Parkside
News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

I noticed the closing of the car wash this weekend - totally unexpected! Did any of the other Zap oil change places in Brooklyn close, too?
I think it's a MAJOR pipe dream, but it would be awesome if a grocery took over that space or something...
The thing with anything other than a car wash coming here is that it would require MAJOR remediation from all the oil changes, etc. Not quite Superfund, but almost.
Someone told me a Carvel is coming to the side of the beer distributor (if you've noticed, the gates on the Flatbush Ave side are always down now, and they've moved the bottle/can redemption window to Washington.
And the good beer prices went bye bye.
I hated when the car wash guys were blocking the sidewalk.
Hope they are gone for good.
Carvel? That seems utterly random.
I hold out hope that one day a Trader Joe's (or something similar) will occupy that building. It would be amazing.
Brooklyn Beer and Soda who used to be up in Prospect Heights took over and are behind the very steep price hikes. O well :(
