Look y'all, when a really nice choice for dinner presents itself, get out there and dig in! Only patronage can keep these places afloat. There's even a smart and cheap kids menu.
I know it's hard when a daytime joint tries to go all dinner on you. But good food is good food. The only minor complaint the ladies had was that the music wasn't quite right. Perhaps slightly better dinner lighting? Ambiance is tough; ask any restauranteur. Maybe you'll have thoughts too. Offer them up to the proprietor, with cheer and a smile of course! And please, eat and drink local. There are lots of new joints opening up all the time. Give 'em a review and send it my way. I'm happy to publish others' writing on topics of which I don't know jack. Food and drink, that's way out of my league.

What's going on with the Gratitude Café that was supposed to open on Parkside? I know they changed their name to PLG Coffee House...what's the scoop- Q?
It was too much for them. As soon as they opened it was clear they weren't ready to expand. Always better to cut and run early.
Can I count your Doula friend as mine?
Only if her last name is the same as a favorite breakfast item.
I would really love to support this and go there for dinner, it is turning into a cute place that would be just right for a glass of wine and a nice dish.
But I'm vegetarian, and by chance, so are the friends I'd most likely bring to such a restaurant in this neighborhood. The spaghetti dish reads like a side-thought. Something I'd be happy with if I'm joining friends somewhere they chose, but I wouldn't choose it or offer it up as an option to veg friends coming into the neighborhood.
So alas. .
The menu changes often, and apart from the patty melt and pork belly it looks like everything else shown is vegetarian-friendly. Vegan maybe not so much but I'm sure adjustments could be made.
