The Q at Parkside

(for those for whom the Parkside Q is their hometrain)

News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

Gratitude Cafe Closes Chapter...Enter, You?

You know it's a classy joint when they go out with a beautifully crafted letter like this. Any takers? Turnkey business indeed. Rogers Avenue is where it's at, and this place is the bomb. Annalisa and Rich deserve a big thanks for creating a space with such warmth and obvious attention to details. Will greatly miss, but best of new adventures to your entire family y'all. Many "blessings" upon you! (But don't get any ideas Lily!)

Tim,

Best not to use the word "bl*ssings"; remember all the computer generated spam you got when you wrote about the cafe of that name a few years ago :-)

The amount of computer generated spam that a simple blog post generates is nothing short of tremendous. I'm saving some of the best for a post of its own.

Misleading headline!

Okay...I'll give it to you Virginia!

However, in my experience, much as one would like to imagine a simple changing of the locks on the doors, even the changing of owners means "closing" one business for another. Of course, it's completely up to the new owner to do whatever they like with the place, so even a turnkey purchase could turn a coffee cafe into a poodle spa or vape shoppe. Or poodle vape spa.
