Hurricane Sandy did a number on the jewel of a playground at Lincoln Road. It's been closed ever since due to necessary repairs. Want proof? We've got a before and after photos!
Calling all parents! See you there tomorrow morning when the lock comes off...
The Q at Parkside
News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

I was a little disappointed to see they are just repairing what was broken. I was hoping they will take the opportunity for a full makeover like they did to other playgrounds around the park. Looks like Lincoln rd playground is now the oldest one in the park.
From what I understand, Lincoln Playground was already re-done not that long ago. I think its lots better than a lot of other playground in Prospect Park (not including Vanderbilt)
We missed this playground so much! We were thrilled to be there again seeing old friends and playing yesterday. To help further improvements join the PP Alliance and make donations. LR playground could use some sprucing up like new rubber tiles but I much prefer the current Lincoln Rd equipment over what's in the new playground on the Windsor Terrace side. The largest apparatus there is too small and so it gets crowded with kids and thus is not nearly as fun plus it's nervewracking to have smaller kids on it. Has there been thought to adding a big kid playground including non-infant swings and a hoop? Make the hoop lower and the court sized for kids so it doesn't attract adult games. Because that's what gets to be a drag in Summer, kids trying to play basketball in the LR playground and throwing balls over or at little kids heads.
How did the renovation costs 100K? Yes there were removal costs and it appears that some work was done to the large slide but I cannot fathom how that cost so much money.
