The Q at Parkside

(for those for whom the Parkside Q is their hometrain)

News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

"Ambassador's" Housing "Council" at "Crown Heights" Library

They may call it the "Crown Heights" branch of the Public Library, but we know better don't we. And I have no idea what "Ambassador" is being referred to here. But no matter, our girl Diana is taking the fight to the people and that's what matters."

Hey Tim, any word on where the city stands with the rezoning study proposal

It's happening. Slowly. CB9 officers and committee chairs met with planning and we expressed solidarity. And we now have an excellent ULURP chair in Michael Lipurd. There is so much misinfo out there right now it's staggering. Pulling back from that will be the real feat.

What's with all these non-public meetings the board is holding with city planning? For those who have been following this for a while, the "closed door" meeting with City Planning back two January's ago set in motion a rezoning plan by the board that caused such controversy in the community that it shut down the board for the rest of the year. Public issues, public meetings. Period.

We were trying to determine how best to take over your house by eminent domain anon! And if transparency is so important to you why not consider telling us who you are?

The hilarious thing is that we were trying to determine how to broaden participation.

Anon, you'll have to take up the cause against Alicia Boyd's private meetings with City Planning while you're at it. She hosted at least one at her house.
