The Q at Parkside

(for those for whom the Parkside Q is their hometrain)

News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

"Park Side" Opens Tomorrow

Do you like Franny's, the incredibly popular pizza parlor up Flatbush way? Well, you may soon be rolling in dough. Cuz Park Side, the new joint opening on Flatbush tween Parkside and Winthrop, will be run by former Franny's man Ted (last name withheld because he's in a Witness Protection Program for chefs, or rather I forgot to ask, such are my journalism skills). He's pumped, the place opens tomorrow (Halloween no less) at 5PM. The menu? Let me share...

you know it's good when they don't use caps!
The Q's thrilled. This is the kind of grub I can get behind. The bar will surely lure them in as well. And here's the kicker. ANOTHER upscaley pizza place is opening on the Flabenue just south of Clarkson near Mango Seed in the shop that used to was the carpet store. It's called Zuri Lee, a terrific name that must be someone's actual name, don't you think? Will talk to the owners and let you know.

I'm thrilled, too, to see these kinds of restaurants opening farther south on Flatbush.

I am overjoyed as well and will hit both new places, but will still also support Family Pizza, across the street. A neighborhood stalwart for many years.
And Q, I still haven't forgiven you for that April fools blog regarding Eataly!
