Someone decided to whip out their sharpie and give commuters at the Q at Parkside some harsh morning medicine. The following statements are not the mottos of a movement, so I would take them with a grain of salt. To the easily rattled I would say that our neighborhood is, as we've learned, the most densely populated in the borough, and the actions of any one person don't a movement make. And yet, you can't help but note the timing. Part of me wanted to ignore it on the blog, which of course is what's really warranted. But, for the sake of the history books, here's the gallery:

I don't mean to make light. But the double exclamations mean this one actually emphatically states that white people ARE allowed. |

If I had to pick one this would be my favorite. |

I saw the first one this morning. It had already been scribbled out.
Someone had scribbled graffiti that was similarly hostile on a building that is under construction near where I live. This graffiti was anti-Semitic. My reaction was, "Really? Really? Was this necessary?" Sad.
If only this person would express themselves in this forum...
Don't worry everyone, I changed it to read "Stop the invasion of flesh-eating zombies in Flatbush". I think that's a statement we can ALL get behind.
Not so fast, Ms. Librarian. The ACLU and Southern Poverty Law Center are onto your agenda. Flesh Eating Zombies, who incidentally prefer to be called Undead Americans, have lived under the yoke of oppression for too long to be subjected to your epithets.
Mary the Librarian, grow-up! You're no longer in junior high school. More importantly, you are divisive, and ignorant-go get a life!
Eeek. Not sure what to do here. Little help? My joke meter seems broken on this one.
nwinthrop55: ...the hell? did you read something I didn't?
Well, that took a left turn I didn't expect.
I think I got it! I had to read it a few times.
Mary said "I changed it to read..." and NWinthrop took that to mean that she had written both the original AND the new version.
Um. I think.
nwinthrop55 must be an advocate for the Undead Americans!
Marie the Librarian, my apologies! In my haste to write a response to this disgusting form of hatred, (I was in a hurry to make it to church), I didn't fully read your response. I am in complete agreement with you. My comments were meant for the individual that wrote these divisive words and more importantly subjecting the rest of us to his/ her pathetic self.
Meant Mary!
No worries nwinthrop55!! I'm just disappointed to see that all the graffiti is still there. I'm going to call the number Clarkson FlatBed suggested in the other post.
The Author of those comment should read some American history. White people invaded Flatbush in the 16oo's not 2014. And "Black Brooklyn" is only here because white people brought them here... i mean "Brooklyn" is named after the Dutch munipality Breukelen for fracks sake! LOL! SMDH... There are more important things to be pissed about, seriously.
