Maybe one of you can hip me to the meaning of this:
I must be really unwith it, cuz I can't tell what the heck this is trying to tell me, or sell me. Little help? (Hint: It's on the Parkside side of the Duane Reade).
The Q at Parkside
News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

But what I couldn't tell is lives in the area, why connect it to her, if she is not living here?
someone has written "here they come" under the legs.
around the corner is "no we don't like white people" written on the street side of the phone booths
Don't take it too hard. The lady in the piece is part of a series about immigrants to NYC, many of whom are not white in the slightest. This particular woman is from Peru.
Ignorance is alive and well, but thankfully it's expressed by a tiny minority of lost souls.
