The Q at Parkside

(for those for whom the Parkside Q is their hometrain)

News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

Bluebird Cafe - Open Tonight

So says a commenter. Seems worthy of a post however. "Bluebird cooking from 5 tonight...take these wilted greens and make them fly. All my life. I was only waiting for a cafe on the 'Bush"

man i wish i'd know about this a tiny bit sooner! I noticed string lights in a backyard (aka hallmark of a brooklyn restaurant) while waiting for the S-train to take me and my visiting sister to a restaurant on franklin ave--would have rather tried this place instead. anyone know how it was?

I was there last night, and the place was hopping. They have a great back bar/patio area, though the front room could use more tables. Prices were reasonable (burger/sandwiches/small plates less than $10 for the most part), and I'm looking forward to trying more of their menu.

Great addition to the neighborhood!
