The Q at Parkside
News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

Stop it with the balconies!!!! They're not open to the sky overhead so they're not for the structures Jewish people build, what are they called. They're for no reason, nobody hangs out on them, all they are used for is detritus. Detritus storage. Stop detritus. It's unsightly.
Meh?
5 year resident of the block.
The lot that is there now is a disgusting dump that was used by a commercial contractor to store construction debris for the last decade. So I dont care what it looks like. It is a good thing.
But, I think the building as pictured is out of character for the neighborhood, but at least it isn't as bad as the symmetry destroying 4 story boxes ruining Martense between Bedford and Rogers.
I agree with anon 1:08. I have owned across the street for a decade and that lot is a dump. Now there are charred out building next to it. Happy to see it developed. The rendering isn't awful. Hoping it's not the sort of material that drips rust stains. Hoping the owners/renters in the new building don't have cars as parking is nuts on the block.
10 year resident across the street. So relieved to see that the derelict empty lot is soon to be no more...hard to be critical at this point!
