The Q at Parkside
News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

Caton Market to Affordable Housing - Public Hearing Tonight Wed Dec 7
Perhaps you know that Caton Market is to become a large apartment building of below-market apartments? In the years' single most significant effort towards ensuring a neighborhood of income diversity, this project deserves a fast greenlight and public support. I'm sure there will be dissenters. But be sure to do your homework. The City land under the well-meaning but ill-conceived closed-air market at Caton/Flatbush could both serve its current purpose AND house a bunch of people desperate for affordable housing. Want to comment? Tonight's the night.

This neighborhood already has enough affordable units. Put the affordable units somewhere else, please. Put them in someone else's backyard. Why does this neighborhood need more affordable housing? We have so much already. Thank-you.
Your comment is mystifying to me. What exactly do you mean that we have "enough affordable units?" What is the meaning of the word enough, and what do you mean by affordable units?
To add to Tim's response, why a hyphen in "thank-you"?
It goes with Prospect-Lefferts Gardens (where this is NOT located - it's south of Clarkson).
I say bring on more "affordable" housing cause let's be real...it's still not affordable.
This neighborhood already has enough hyphens. Put the hyphens somewhere else, please. Put them in someone else's backyard. Why does this neighborhood need more hyphens? We have so much already. Thank-you [sic].
C'mon, Bob:
Make America Hyphen Again
Though Crain's isn't known for the accuracy of its prognostications, the editors always have a few handy offerings, especially now, with Trump about to assume the presidency.
What does Trump mean for NY City? Here's Crain's view:

With respect to healthcare, the article will probably miss by a mile. Most likely, the Trump team will expand the definition of Medicaid and add lots and lots of people to the rolls. As Obamacare fades, Medicaid will grow.
