The Q at Parkside

(for those for whom the Parkside Q is their hometrain)

News and Nonsense from the Brooklyn neighborhood of Lefferts and environs, or more specifically a neighborhood once known as Melrose Park. Sometimes called Lefferts Gardens. Or Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. Or PLG. Or North Flatbush. Or Caledonia (west of Ocean). Or West Pigtown. Across From Park Slope. Under Crown Heights. Near Drummer's Grove. The Side of the Park With the McDonalds. Jackie Robinson Town. Home of Lefferts Manor. West Wingate. Near Kings County Hospital. Or if you're coming from the airport in taxi, maybe just Flatbush is best.

626 Flatbush - Affordable Unit Applications Available

Say what you will about the Flatbush Monster. It's one of the only buildings around here being built that offers affordable units. The application is available, but the last page has the numbers most folks aren't wondering about:

At least now we have an answer to the question "affordable to whom." Just referenc the above, since it will be the benchmark in our neighborhood for the foreseeable future.

If you want a copy of the full application go here. Also, you can get an application by mail or phone - 646-388-8230

And who exactly is this affordable for? Another case middle class getting squeezed out.

I'm so thankful that I can afford to live in the community I grew up in. Many of the people in this neighborhood who are usually spoken for or unheard from because of their economic circumstances or educational background finally get a chance to be apart of something new within the neighborhood and doesn't include being pushed out by the new generation of gentrifiers.

I hope I get in!

Screw the middle class! Let's just cater to criminals. Rich & poor. Great plan for the city.

Screw the middle class. This is why the divide between the haves and have nots increases. Catering to the richest and poorest is why this city is no longer viable option for the middle class. This is NOT good for us.
